Answer: Four

Lewis Powell (or Paine), David Herold, George Atzerodt, and Mary Surrat were all hanged for being co-conspirators of John Wilkes Booth. Hundreds of people were investigated and imprisoned for being allegedly linked to the conspiracy.
2. Who shot Archduke Ferdinand on June 28th, 1914?

Answer: Gavrilo Princip

This 19 year-old Serbian nationalist ignited the powder keg that started World War I. A vast system of alliances exploded into the 'war to end all wars.' Princip died in prison of tuberculosis a few years later.
3. In what city was Archduke Ferdinand assassinated?

Answer: Sarajevo

Princip pushed his way through towards the Archduke's automobile and fired the fatal shots.
