Kenneth Arthur "Ken" Dodd (born 1927) is most famous as a comedy performer in the traditional "Music Hall" style. He has also acted on stage, film and television, sung several hit songs (including the UK chart topping "Tears" in 1965) and has written his biography. The sticking out teeth were caused by a bicycle accident as a child.

Eric Arthur Blair (1903-1950) wanted to be noticed from an early age and managed it throughout his all too short life. As a child he did this by standing on his head to greet a girl. He was a teacher, policeman, journalist, traveller and writer who found his own way to influence the world.

He continued to communicate with his followers and often used the phrase, "Don't worry, be happy" as well as longer variants, in transatlantic cables to encourage his followers.

"Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin was the first a cappella (voice only, no instruments) song to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The music video released at the same time as the single starred the late, great Robin Williams and his fellow comedian, Bill Irwin.

Abdirashid Ali Shermarke, Walter Gropius and Boris Karloff all died in 1969 too.
