Originally, the trial was to be held in Santa Monica. Due to an earthquake, the courthouse was labeled as security hazard from damage it sustained, so the trial was moved to downtown Los Angeles.

The Simpson murder trial was Judge Lance Ito most publicized appearance as judge. Ito also presided over the Lincoln Savings and Loan Scandal during the trial of Charles H. Keating Jr on several counts of securities fraud.

"Time Magazine" was accused of racism for their initial cover which portrayed Simpson as a much "darker" man than he actually was. "Time" then issued a second cover and pulled the first one.

Along with Christopher Allen Darden, Marcia Clark led the prosecution in the Simpson murder trial. Clark's best known trial was in 1991, when she prosecuted obsessed fan Robert John Bardo for the murder of Rebecca Schaeffer.

After four hours of deliberation, the jury finally made their decision. A verdict of not guilty was presented and Simpson was allowed to go free.
