Winnie Madikizela and Nelson Mandela were married for a 38 year period (1958-1996) which included the 27 years he was imprisoned. When Nelson Mandela was President of South Africa he married the Mozambican Graça Machel who stayed with him from 1998 until 2013 when he passed away.

During the American Civil War the Conscription Act of 1863 that allowed a summoned person to send another person instead. Stephen Grover Cleveland paid $150 to George Bennisk, a Polish immigrant, for taking his place.

Kennedy in Dallas, TX. Two days after the murder of the President Kennedy Lee H. Oswald was shot and killed by Jack Ruby.
