Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. MDAA appears in Genesis 2 as he was the first man. With his wife Eve, he ruled the land. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Adam

Adam, of course, is the correct answer. The creation of the first man is recorded in Genesis 1:26-28 with Scripture stating God created him in His own image. The name Adam first appears in Genesis 2:19. According to notes in the NKJV Study Bible, Adam simply means 'the man'.

After Adam was called upon by God to give names to all the animals that had been created, Scripture tells of God creating Eve, the first woman.
2. ABBAETHHS took a bath, she was Eliam's daughter, and before long a king was in hot water. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Bathsheba

Bathsheba was taking a bath when King David, who was on the rooftop of his palace, first saw her. 2 Samuel 11 tells of David having an adulterous affair with Bathsheba while her soldier husband, Uriah, was away in battle. After she became pregnant, David tried to convince Uriah an adulterous affair had not taken place but the king's scheming was in vain. Scripture goes on to tell of David orchestrating the death of Uriah and then taking Bathsheba as his wife.

However, the child that was conceived as a result of their tryst died shortly after birth. Later, David and Bathsheba would become parents of Solomon, the man who would eventually replace David as king.
3. VIDDA fired a stone direct from his sling when a giant of a man felt his deadly sting. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: David

Correctly unscramble the letters VIDDA and you get David, the young shepherd boy who slew Goliath with his slingshot. David's miraculous triumph over Goliath, a Philistine behemoth, is recounted in 1 Samuel 17. After slaying Goliath, David became a national hero and it was only a matter of time before he ended up being crowned king.
4. HOAN built an ark and when the flood came he and his family survived until the water did wane. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Noah

Chapters 6, 7 and 8 tell of Noah building a gigantic ark in which he and his family took refuge when a massive flood engulfed the world. According to Scripture, Moses and his unnamed wife as well as their three sons (Shem, Ham, and Japheth) and their three unnamed wives survived the flood by taking refuge in the ark.

Genesis 6:19-22 also tells of Noah being instructed by God to take a male and female of every kind of animal and bird onto the ark.
5. SBAAABRN always encouraged and served with the likes of Paul. Working behind the scenes, in my book he stands tall. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Barnabas

Barnabas was a Levite from the Mediterranean island of Cyprus and was known for encouraging others in the early church. In fact, his real name was Joses, as per the NKJV, but the apostles gave him the name Barnabas, which means Son of Encouragement. Scripture also tells of Barnabas selling land he owned and laying the money at the apostles' feet. (For details, see Acts 4:36-37.)
6. TRPEE was an apostle, and about Jesus he loved to talk, and as a result a crippled man was finally able to walk. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Peter

Correctly unscramble the letters TRPEE and you get the name Peter, one of the original Twelve Disciples. The 'poem' makes reference to Acts 3:1-26, Scripture telling of Peter miraculously enabling a man who had been paralyzed since birth to walk. The passage tells of the man begging for money by the gate of the temple in Jerusalem when Peter encountered him.

In Verse 6, Peter makes his famous statement: "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." Miraculously, the man did just that! He rose up and walked! Accompanying Peter during the miracle was John, another member of the Twelve Disciples.
7. AHTIBAT was a widow who was dead as they come, but when Peter prayed her death was undone. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Tabitha

The account of Peter raising Tabitha, also known as Dorcas, from the dead is found in Acts 9:36-43. According to the passage, Tabitha was a widow in Joppa who was well known for her good deeds and after becoming sick she died. However, Peter was miraculously able to raise the woman from the dead. Scripture tells of Peter kneeling beside Tabitha and praying and then turning to the body, proclaiming, "Tabitha, arise." Miraculously Tabitha opened her eyes and sat up.

The passage goes on to tell of many people in Joppa believing in the Lord as a result of the miracle.
8. MOTTYHI was young and timid worker in the early church, he was faithful to Paul never leaving him in a lurch. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Timothy

Timothy is the correct answer. He was a young and timid worker in the early church who often labored alongside Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles. In his writings, Paul speaks highly of Timothy, often describing him as a son. According to Scripture, Timothy was a native of Lystra and his mother was Eunice and his grandmother was Lois. However, no name is given for Timothy's father.
9. LISSA was in jail with Paul singing hymns at midnight and when an earthquake happened a jailer gained his spiritual sight. (Now unscramble the letters in the first word to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Silas

Correctly unscramble the letters LISSA and you get the name Silas, a worker in the early church. The 'poem' above is based on Acts 16:16-34, Scripture telling of Silas and Paul singing and praying at midnight after being severely beaten and jailed. Miraculously, a "great earthquake" took place and all the prison doors were opened.

However, Silas and Paul did not make a break for it. Rather they stayed put and preached the Gospel message to the jailer. The passage goes on to tell of the jailer believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and being baptized along with his family.
10. DASUJ TIOSICRA, the son of Simon, was a liar and a cheat, he betrayed Christ and now feels the heat. (Now unscramble the letters in the first words to come up with the correct answer.)

Answer: Judas Iscariot

Judas Iscariot is the correct answer. Scripture tells of him betraying Jesus for thirty pieces of silver, resulting in His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane and His crucifixion on Calvary. Shortly after the betrayal, Judas was filled with remorse and committed suicide.

In case you're wondering, John 12:4 states Judas was the son of Simon.
