1. Out of the four names below starting with the letters 'SHE', which one, according to Genesis 5:32, was a son of Noah?

Answer: Shem

According to Genesis 5:32, Shem was the oldest of Noah's three sons. The two other sons were Ham and Japheth. Shem was the father of Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram, as per Genesis 10:22.

Noah and his unnamed wife as well as Shem, Ham and Japheth and their three unnamed wives survived a gigantic flood that engulfed the world by taking refuge in a gigantic ark, according to Scripture.
2. Out of the four placenames below starting with the letters 'SHE', which one, according to 1 Kings 10:1-13, was a country represented by a queen who presented Solomon with a vast array of gifts?

Answer: Sheba

Sheba, of course, is the correct answer. 1 Kings 10:1-13 as well as 2 Chronicles 9:1-12 tells of the queen of Sheba travelling to Jerusalem to present a vast array of precious gifts to Solomon as she had heard about his fame and wisdom.

Scholars are divided about the exact location of Sheba but the most common view states it was south of present day Saudi Arabia in territory now known as Yemen.

For the record, Sheffield is a city in England, Sherbrooke is a city in Canada and Shaoxing is a city in China.
3. Out of the four names below starting with the letters 'SHE', which one, according to 2 Samuel 3:4, was a son of David?

Answer: Shephatiah

Shephatiah was the fifth son of David with the mother being Abital, according to 2 Samuel 3:4. Little is known about Shephatiah, however, as he is metnioned in passing reference.

It must be pointed out there are other men in the Old Testament named
Shephatiah. One of them was the son of Mattan who denounced Jeremiah to King Zedekiah, as per Jeremiah 38:1. Meanwhile, 2 Chronicles 21:1-2, tells of King Jehoshaphat having a son called Shephatiah.
4. Out of the four names below starting with the letters 'SHE', which one, according to Numbers 34:20, was appointed by Moses to oversee the division of Canaan amongst the tribe of Simeon?

Answer: Shemuel

Numbers 34:20 tells of Moses appointing Shemuel to oversee distribution of land in Canaan to the tribe of Simeon. Shemuel was the son of Ammihud but little is known about him as he is mentioned in passing reference.

Meanwhile, there is a second man called Shemuel in the Old Testament. According to 1 Chronicles 7:1-2 he was a son of Tola and a grandson of Issachar.
5. Out of the four names below starting with the letters 'SHE', which woman, according to 1 Chronicles 7:24, was responsible for building three cities?

Answer: Sheerah

Sheerah was apparently a dynamic woman, as 1 Chronicles 7:24 tells of her building three cities -- Lower and Upper Beth Horon and Uzzen Sheerah. She was of the tribe of Ephraim, but little is known about her as she is mentioned only once in Scripture.

However, Bible scholars believe she was a woman of considerable prestige and power. (In some versions of the Bible she is known as Sherah rather than Sheerah.)
6. Out of the four names below starting with the letters 'SHE', which one, according to 1 Chronicles 2:34, had no sons, only daughters?

Answer: Sheshan

Sheshan was an Israelite who had no sons, only daughters, according to 1 Chronicles 2:34. However, no details are given as to the number of girls in his family. Scripture goes on to state Sheshan had an Egyptian servant named Jarha and one of his unnamed daughters married the servant. The marriage resulted in the birth of a boy who was called Attai.
7. Out of the four names below starting with the letters 'SHE', which one is part of the genealogy of Christ, as per Matthew 1:12?

Answer: Shealtiel

Shealtiel is part of the genealogy of Christ, as per Matthew 1:12. According to the verse, he was the son of Jeconiah and the father of Zerubbabel. Sheatiel was born in Babylon after the Israelites were taken into captivity.

For the complete genealogy of Christ, see Matthew 1:1-17.
8. Out of the four names below starting with the letters 'SHE', which one, according to 1 Chronicles 8:38, was a descendent of King Saul and one of six sons of Azel?

Answer: Sheariah

Sheariah, according to 1 Chronicles 8, was a descendant of Saul, the first king of Israel. Sheariah's father was Azel and his grandfather was Eleasah. However, little is known about Sheariah as he is mentioned in only 1 Chronicles 8:38 and 1 Chronicles 9:44 and in each instance it is in passing reference.
9. Out of the four names below starting with the letters 'SHE', which one, according to Isaiah 7:3, was a son of Isaiah, the prophet? (Spelling is per the NKJV and the NIV. The KJV has a slightly different spelling.)

Answer: Shear-Jashub

Shear-Jashub is the correct answer, as per Isaiah 7:3. According to notes in the NKJV Study Bible, the name Shear-Jashub means 'A Remnant Shall Return'. The name proved to be highly prophetic because Scripture goes on to tell of "a remnant" of the Israelites returning to Jerusalem from captivity in Babylon.

(In the KJV, Shear-jashub is known as Shearjashub.)

Later in Isaiah 7, Isaiah, the prophet of God, writes words that have become known as the Immanuel Prophecy. For details of the Immanuel Prophecy, see Isaiah 7:10-25.
10. Out of the four names below starting with the letters 'SHE', which one, according to Genesis 34, defiled Dinah, the daughter of Jacob and Leah?

Answer: Shechem

Shechem was the man who defiled Dinah, the daughter of Jacob and Leah, as per Genesis 34. Shechem's brutal actions prompted two of Dinah's brothers -- Simeon and Levi -- to go on a vicious vigilante killing spree. Incidentally, Shechem lived in a town that was also called Shechem.

Other men in the Old Testament are also called Shechem but they are all minor characters. For example, one man called Shechem was a descendent of Manasseh according to Numbers 26:31, Joshua 17:2, and 1 Chronicles 7:19.
