Answer: Who is Ephraim?

Ephraim was the younger of two sons of Joseph and Asenath. According to Genesis 41:52 in the NKJV, Joseph called his second son Ephraim, "for God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction."

The first son of Joseph and Asenath was called Manasseh. According to Genesis 41:51, the name Manasseh means "for God has made me forget all my toil and all my father's house."

Answer: Who is Zophar?

Zophar, a Naamathite, was one of three friends who visited Job in his time of need, as per Job 2:11. The two other friends were Eliphaz, a Temanite, and Bildad, a Shuhite. Later, a fourth friend would visit. His name was Elihu, a Buzite.

The conversations between Job and his friends constitute a major portion of the Book of Job.

Ishbosheth, the son of Saul, was king of a divided Israel when he was assassinated by two brothers, Rechab and Baanah. Details about the assassination appear in 2 Kings 4. During the time of Ishbosheth's assassination, Israel was embroiled in a bloody civil war. One side supported Ishbosheth as king and the other side supported David as king.

With the assassination of Ishbosheth, the civil war came to an abrupt end and David became king of the entire nation.

In the NIV, Ishbosheth is known as Ish_Bosheth.

Adonijah, the son of David, attempted to replace his father as king in a bloodless coup. David, who was elderly and frail at the time, didn't realize what was happening, as per 1 Kings 1:18. Adonijah, however, would be thwarted in his bid to become king with Bathsheaba, the mother of Solomon, doing her part to ensure her son would become king. Assisting Bathsheba was Nathan the prophet.

David, in 1 Kings 1:28 expressed his fervent desire that Solomon would be his replacement.

Details about Darius the Mede replacing Belshazzar as king are found in Daniel 5:30-31. According to the verse, he was sixty-two years old when he became king.

For the record, Darius the Mede is not to be confused with other kings called Darius in the Old Testament. He is mentioned in only Daniel.
8. The son of Aaron who was high priest in the days of Joshua

Answer: Who is Eleazar?

Eleazar, the son of Aaron, was the high priest of the Israelites in the days of Joshua. Numbers 3:32 tells of Eleazar ascending to the position.

Details about Joshua and Eleazar dividing up tracts of land in Canaan for the twelve tribes are found in Joshua. Meanwhile, Joshua 24 records the deaths of Joshua and Eleazar.
9. The Old Testament book with exactly thirty-one chapters using the KJV

Answer: What is Proverbs?

Using Bible versions such as the KJV, NKJV and NIV, Proverbs has thirty-one chapters. One other Old Testament book also has thirty-one chapters in these three Bible versions. The other book with thirty-one chapters is 1 Samuel.

For the record, Numbers has thirty-six chapters, Nahum has three chapters and Obadiah one.
10. The book of the Pentateuch with the most chapters, using the KJV

Answer: What is Genesis?

Out of the five books in the Pentateuch, Genesis has the most chapters when using Bible versions such as the KJV, NKJV and the NIV. Genesis, the first book of the Old Testament, has fifty chapters.

Exodus, with forty chapters, has the second most chapters in the Pentateuch. Numbers has the third most chapters with thirty-six, while Deuteronomy is fourth with thirty-four and Leviticus fifth with twenty-seven.

Two of the possible answers, Esther and Ruth, are not part of the Pentateuch.
