Charles Darwin (1809-1882) was a famous scientist who came up with theories of evolution and natural selection. In 1859, Darwin published a book entitled, "On the Origin of Species". Darwin made many of his discoveries during a voyage around the world via the HMS Beagle from 1831-1836. Earlier in his life, Darwin was a Unitarian and had plans on becoming a clergyman, but after conducting his research, he began to question the Bible and religion in general.
