Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. According to Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV) how soon does the Lord know us?

Answer: Before conception

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."

God is all-knowing so he actually knew us before he even created the world. The word for being all-knowing is omniscient.
2. What/who does God command Judah to obey in Jeremiah 7:23 (KJV)?

Answer: His (God's) voice

Jeremiah 7:23 "But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you."

Obeying God is a common theme throughout the Bible. In a Bible search on biblegateway.com for the KJV of the Bible the word "obey" appeared in 114 verses from Genesis to I Peter in the Old Testament.
3. Whose sins are written with a "pen of iron" and a "pit of diamond"?

Answer: Judah's

Jeremiah 17:1 "The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars."

The tribe of Judah was located between the Mediterranean and Dead Seas. (http://www.answers.com/topic/judah-ancient-kingdom-of-southern-palestine?cat=travel)
4. Who is the son of Immer, the priest?

Answer: Pashur

Jeremiah 20:1 "Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things."

There was three different Pashur's mentioned in the book of Jeremiah. The other two are Pashur the son of Malchiah, and Pashur the father of Gedaliah. However, Wikipedia.com says that the son of Immer may be the same Pashur as the father of Gedaliah, but it is not certain.
5. Who does the Branch refer to in Jeremiah 23:5 (KJV) according to the Christian belief?

Answer: Jesus

Jeremiah 23:5 says, "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth."

Jesus was born into the lineage of David through both Mary and Joseph.

Jeremiah 28:15 "Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie."

Hananiah's name means "gracious". He was a false prophet. It is important to be careful whom you listen to, as some people may be false prophets and therefore dangerous to listen to.
7. What did the king of Babylon take from Zedekiah?

Answer: his eyes

Jeremiah 39:7 "Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon."
