Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What does the phrase "Bible doctrines" mean?

Answer: Bible teachings

The Protestant Bible has 66 books; 39 in the Old Testament, 27 in the New. Approximately 40 authors wrote these books over a period of about 1500 years. It is important to know Bible doctrines because God is the main author, speaking through the human ones.
2. There are nine categories of Bible doctrines. This first one is pretty easy. What is Bibliology?

Answer: Study of the Bible

As mentioned before, Christians believe that God inspired the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." He used holy men to write His Word.
3. Theology, by definition, is the study of what?

Answer: God

According to Christian teaching, God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and he's everywhere. He created the whole world. Genesis 1:1 "And in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." He also loves every person very much, but he hates the bad things we do.
4. What is the study of Christ?

Answer: Christology

Christians believe that Christ is God's Son. Christians believe he is the Saviour who died on the cross to save everyone form their sins if only they will believe. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life." Christians believe Christ is the Messiah the Jews are looking for.
5. Pneumatology is the study of what?

Answer: The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a part of the trinity. (God the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit.) Whenever a person believes in Christ as their Saviour, then they also believe that the Holy Spirit fills them, and helps them to grow in Christ. Acts 2:38, John 14:17, and John 14:26 are some verses that speak about the Holy Spirit.
6. What is the study of man?

Answer: Anthropology

In the context of biblical anthropology, man once lived in a wonderful world, but then one man sinned; he disobeyed God. Because of sin, man had to work the land, etc. Since sin came into the world, every person that was born was sinful. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:10 "As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one."
7. What does Soteriology mean?

Answer: The Study of Salvation

Salvation is the repentance of sins. As mentioned before, everyone is sinful. (See Que.6) Christ came into the world as a perfect baby, and lived a perfect life, and died on a cruel cross for the sins of the world. When a person accepts this, and belives Christ died for him/her they have salvation. (See Que.4.) Romans 6:23 says, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
8. Ecclesiology is the study of what?

Answer: The church

The church is made up of Christians, believers in Christ. The history of this church is found in the book of Acts. Anyone who believes that Christ died for them is part of His church.
9. Does Angelology include the study of Demons?

Answer: yes

Demons are the angels that followed Satan when he got too proud and left heaven. Angelology is the study of angels, good and bad. Isaiah 14:12-14 and Ezekiel 28:14-17 talk about Satan becoming proud.
10. Eschatology is the study of what?

Answer: last things

The book of Revelation may tell us what will happen in the last days of the world. Even some of the Old Testament prophets talk about the last things also.
