Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I was married to Bathsheba and King David orchestrated my murder. Who am I?

Answer: Uriah

Yes, Uriah was the first husband of Bathsheba, David's most famous wife. After David learned Bathsheba was pregnant through an adulterous affair he had with her, he ended up conspiring to have Uriah murdered. The adultery took place while Uriah, a soldier, was in battle.

After plotting and scheming, David eventually ordered Uriah to be placed in the front line where the fighting was fiercest and then had all the men withdraw, as per 2 Samuel 11:15. True to plan, Uriah was killed.
2. I was the son of Saul and I was best of friends with David, a person my father despised. Who am I?

Answer: Jonathan

Even though Jonathan would've been in line to replace his father as king, he was the best of friends with David, the man who would eventually become king of Israel. In fact, their friendship was perhaps unlike any other in the Old Testament. 1 Samuel 18:1, in the NIV Bible, describes their friendship this way: "After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself." Had it not been for Jonathan, Saul might had been successful in his insatiable quest to have David killed.
3. Adam and Eve were my parents and I was the first girl in the family after the likes of Cain, Abel and Seth. Who am I?

Answer: No name is given

No names are given for any of the daughters of Adam and Eve. Seth was born after Cain and Abel and Scripture simply states that afterward Adam and Eve had "other sons and daughters," as per Genesis 5:4. Adam was reportedly 130 years old when Seth was born and he died at age 930. In other words, there could have been a large number of sons and daughters whose names are unknown.
4. I was the wife of King Ahab and my name has come to symbolize wickedness. Who am I?

Answer: Jezebel

The correct answer is Jezebel. She is regarded by many as the most wicked woman in the Bible and according to the website Meaning-of-names.com, Jezebel means 'impure'. She is despised in Scripture because she convinced her husband Ahab to worship false gods and persecuted God's prophets. Her life ended when she was thrown out of a window by her aids and she was trampled by horses, as per 2 Kings 9:30-37.
5. I was a prophet in the book of 1 Kings who was fed by ravens. Who am I?

Answer: Elijah

The correct answer is Elijah. The account of the prophet being fed by ravens is found in 1 Kings 17:1-6. After Elijah told King Ahab there will be "neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word," he got instructions from the LORD to hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. 1 Kings 17:5-6, in the NIV Bible, states: "So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook."
6. I was married to Nabal and after he died I became the wife of David. Who am I?

Answer: Abigail

Abigail became David's wife after Nabal died. Scripture has nothing but nice things to say about Abigail, portraying her as beautiful, wise and gracious. It's a different matter for her first husband, however. Nabal is portrayed as being foolhardy and an obstinate man. In fact, his name means 'fool,' according to 1 Samuel 25:25.
7. I was a relative of Naomi on her husband's side and came from the clan of Elimelech. Scripture states I was a man of standing. Who am I?

Answer: Boaz

The correct answer is Boaz, the man who married Ruth in the Book of Ruth. In fact, much of the book is a report of their romance. Their marriage would result in the birth of Obed, who would become the grandfather of King David. In the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke, in the New Testament, Boaz's name is listed in the ancestry of Jesus Christ. (See Matthew 1:5 and Luke 3:32.)
8. I was one of the minor prophets who proclaimed the LORD would make Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, like His signet ring. Who am I?

Answer: Haggai

The correct answer is Haggai. His prophecy can be found at Haggai 2:3. The verse in the NIV Bible states, "'On that day,' declares the LORD Almighty, 'I will take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel,' declares the LORD, 'and I will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you,' declares the LORD Almighty." Incidentally, Haggai and others are called minor prophets simply because their books are much shorter than the books of the major prophets.

The major prophets include Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel and Daniel.

However, the writings of the minor prophets are seen as just as relevant. According to Bible.org, the term "minor prophets" originated in the fourth century, during the time of Augustine.
9. My daughters were Leah and Rachel and they both married Jacob. Who am I?

Answer: Laban

Laban is the correct answer. There's no disputing the fact he was shrewd as he got a total of 14 years of labor out of Jacob for the right to marry his two daughters. According to Scripture, Jacob had agreed to work seven years for the right to win Rachel's hand, however, when the seven years were up, Laban insisted Jacob had to marry Leah, his older daughter. Laban told Jacob it would not be right for his younger daughter to marry before his older daughter, so Jacob agreed to marry Leah and then work for seven more years for the right to marry Rachel, the one who had caught his eye all along.
10. I was to obtain the blessing from my aged father but my brother Jacob tricked him and beat me out. Who am I?

Answer: Esau

Esau, of course, was beat out by his twin brother Jacob. Esau was a favorite of his father Isaac, but Jacob was favored by his mother Rebekah. In fact, it was Rebekah that set things in motion to have Jacob get the blessing over Esau. These devious actions can be found in Genesis 27:1-40. Later, Jacob would flee for his life as Esau was going to kill him, as per Genesis 27:41-46.
