MTSU defeated the SEC's Vanderbilt University 17-15, blocking a last second Vandy 36-yard field goal attempt to preserve the win. MTSU was 0-3 going into the Nashville, Tennessee away game and the surprising Vandy squad was a perfect 4-0 until that night was over.
