Answer: 1967

The Seattle Sonics played there first ever game against the San Francisco Warriors, and lost 144-116. They didnt win there first game until two nights later against San Diego, then proceeded to lose 12 of the next 13 games.
2. In Seattle's first season of play, what was there final win-loss record?

Answer: 23-59

They finished with the second worst record in 1967-68 with San Diego taking the worst record that season of 15-67.
3. Who was named player Coach of the team for the 1969-70 season?

Answer: Lenny Wilkens

Lenny would also lead the Sonics to the 1979 NBA Championship.
4. Before the 1970-71 season, which ABA star made the jump to the NBA and the Sonics in a landmark case for undergraduate players for years to come?

Answer: Spencer Haywood

Spencer Haywood would give all undergrads the chance to come out early with the win in court. Haywood averaged 20.6 points per game in his first NBA season.
