Answer: possession limited to 4 tackles

For the first time since 1956, St George did not appear in the Grand Final, losing 12-11 to Canterbury in the Preliminary Final. There is still to this day a conspiracy theory around that suggests the limited tackle rule was introduced to stop St George's run of wins, but in truth it was introduced to make the game faster and more exciting. For the first few years it was a 4-tackle rule, later revised to 6.

15. Manly finally won the premiership in 1972, after losing how many grand finals?

An interesting fact is that the VFL (Victorian Football League, now known as AFL) also had a drawn Grand Final on the same day, with Collingwood and North Melbourne scoring 76 points each. A remarkable coincidence.
21. What happened again in 1978?

Answer: Both of these

Amazingly, Manly drew the Minor Semi with Parramatta 13-13. They had to replay this game, and won 17-11. Even more incredibly, the Grand Final was drawn for the second year in a row, Manly and Cronulla drew 11-11. Manly won the replay 16-0.
