Answer: 2

Ruth didn't homer with the bases filled until Sept. 27. Then he did it again on the 29th. Took him a while to get warmed up!
2. How many runs did Tony Cloninger drive in on July 3, 1966?

Answer: 9

That was the day Cloninger, a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves became the first National Leaguer, pitcher or otherwise, to hit 2 grand slams in one game. He also drove one run in with a single. This was at Candlestick Park against the Giants.
3. What were the nicknames of the White Sox players' whose last names were Fox, Minoso, and Rivera?

Answer: Nellie, Minnie, and Jungle

Nelson "Nellie" Fox, Orestes Saturnino "Minnie" Minoso, and "Jungle" Jim Rivera. Ya gotta love a team with guys like that! This was in the 1950's.
4. What was Kiki Cuyler's middle name?

Answer: Shirley

Would you believe Shirley? Something like Maury Povich's dad, whose first name was Shirley. Hazen Shirley "Kiki" Cuyler (his nickname was the first syllable of his last name repeated, not pronounced "keekee") was a hard-hitting middle infielder for the Pirates and Cubs. He later played for the Reds and Dodgers. He entered the HOF in 1968, 18 years after his death at 51.
5. The site of Braves Field was still being used for baseball in 2002?

Answer: True

The Braves abandoned Braves Field for the greener and not-long-after-less-green pastures of Milwaukee after the 1952 season. It was the site of Boston University's Nickerson Field in 2002, and some of the original stands are still being used.
6. How many homers did the Washington Senators hit at home in 1945?

Answer: 1

Griffith Stadium was a tough place to hit one out, and all the real players were in the military service.
7. Why is Charles M. Conlon a notable name in the history of baseball?

Answer: He was a prominent baseball photographer.

Conlon's photos are considered by many to be works of art, far above average. They can be seen in the book "Baseball's Golden Age: The Photographs of Charles M. Conlon." John B. "Jocko" Conlan was a National League umpire from 1941 to 1964. Ban Johnson was the first president of the American League.
8. What notable thing did Debs Garms do in 1940?

Answer: He won the NL batting title.

Debs hit .355 with Pittsburgh in 1940. A career year!
9. How many years before Phil Niekro was born, was his brother Joe born?

Answer: Phil is actually older

Phil was born in 1939, Joe in 1944. Both were pitchers. Niekro was among 20th-century players, the oldest to play regularly in the majors. He pitched in 1987 at age 48. He played for 24 years in the Majors.
10. What team was Tom Seaver with, when he recorded his 300th career victory?

Answer: White Sox

Seaver pitched for all of these teams, but on August 4, 1985, at Yankee Stadium when he notched 300, he was with the Pale Hose.
