Nicol stole 138 bases in 1887 for Cincinnati and was the first to break the 100 barrier. He stole 103 the following year.
2. Who was the first player to be HBP (hit by a pitch) 50 or more times in a season?

Answer: Hughie Jennings

Jennings was hit 51 times in 1896 with Baltimore of the National League. Hunt was hit 50 times in 1971.
3. Which of the following pitchers gave up more career home runs?

Answer: Robin Roberts

Roberts gave up a whopping 505 home runs in his career spanning 19 seasons primarily with Philadelphia. He retired in 1966. Jenkins gave up 484.
4. Who has the highest career win percentage of managers who have helmed their team for more than 1000 games?

Answer: Walter Alston

Alston managed 3658 games in 23 seasons retiring in 1976. His win percentage was .558. Anderson was the runnerup with a win percentage of .545 with just over 4000 games managed.

McCovey was born Willie Lee but most pitchers in the National League knew him as Stretch, Mac, Big Mac, and mostly trouble. He terrorized National League pitchers for 22 seasons and retired with 521 home runs.

He ripped off 100 or more 3 times in a season during his career. 1980 was his first when he stole 100. He stole 130 in 1982, and another 108 in 1983.

Answer: 1952

In 1937 he stepped down from the St.Louis Browns of the American League. He made a comeback in 1952 again with the Browns. In 1953 and 1954 he managed the Reds both seasons for sixth place finishes. He died 10 years later. He was 701-812 in his managerial career.
