On June 7-8, 1950, the Red Sox scored a total of 49 runs to set an American and Major League record, when they defeated the Browns 20-4 on Wednesday June 7th, and 29-4 on Thursday June 8th. Both games were at Fenway Park. On Friday June 9th, the Red Sox lost 7-12 to the Browns (again at Fenway Park) and set a ML record of 56 runs in three games.
2. Which team set a National League modern day (after 1900) record for most runs scored in consecutive games, when they hit 45 runs in two days?

Answer: Pittsburgh Pirates

On June 20-22, 1925, the Pirates scored a total of 45 runs in consecutive games: they defeated Dodgers 21-5 at Forbes Field, and Cardinals 24-6.
