Answer: He won six Gold Glove awards

Bad knees and all, Mantle pulled his only one Gold Glove in 1962. He was the first switch-hitter in history to bat for a Triple Crown in 1956. Mickey was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1974.

Answer: He won a Manager of the Year Award

Born Cornelius McGillicuddy in 1862, he played for 11 seasons, including one season in the Players League. He had the helm of the Pirates for three seasons before taking on the new Philadelphia Athletics in 1901. The Manager of the Year Award did not begin until 1983.

Henderson fell three home runs short of becoming a member of the 300 Home Run Club. He retired with 1406 thefts, and when he retired in 2003, he was the only player to steal 1000 bases. His MVP Award came in 1990 with Oakland. His first team was the Athletics in 1979, then moved to the Yankees, then back to Oakland, then Toronto, then back to Oakland again.

In the year of Denny McLain in 1968, the Tiger pitcher went 31-6 to vault the Tigers into the World Series against the Cardinals. Kaline was there in his 16th season of 21 with Detroit. Al made his only World Series count with 11 hits, two home runs, and batted .379.

However, fellow Tiger pitcher Mickey Lolich took the series MVP honors with his three wins. Kaline retired in 1974 just one home run short of the 400-club with 399, then was inducted into the hall in 1980.
