Florida defeated the Tide 10-6 in 1963. Southern Miss won 38-29 in 1982.

Harry Gilmer gained All-Amerian honors in 1945, and finished fifth in the Heisman voting in both 1945 and 1947. He was elected into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 1973.
