1. Who won the pole for the Daytona 500?

Answer: Greg Biffle

Biffle gave Roush Racing its first Daytona 500 pole. Unfortunately, Biffle lost an engine in a practice session the day before the race, and had to start in back of the field. Greg came back though, and was able to finish 12th in the race.
2. Which driver was NOT involved in the "Big One"?

Answer: Brendan Gaughan

The "Big One" occurred on lap 71 when Johnny Sauter moved up the track and hit Jamie McMurray, who hit Michael Waltrip. Sauter drove away, but McMurray was sent spinning into the infield grass. Waltrip hit the outside wall, moved down the track and into the infield grass, where his car barrel-rolled several times. Waltrip was unhurt.

Other drivers caught up in the wreck were Robby Gordon, Terry Labonte, Sterling Marlin, Brian Vickers, Ryan Newman, Johnny Benson, Kevin Lepage, and Scott Riggs.

By taking two tires on his last pit stop of the race, Scott Wimmer was able to come out of pit row as the leader. He didn't lead long though, as Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. passed him about three laps after he took the lead. Wimmer ended up finishing third.

Jeff Burton suffered an engine failure on lap 26, finishing 42nd. Ward Burton finished 17th, Dave Blaney 15th, and Kurt Busch 16th.
