Answer: Italian

The Italian word is boccia, which is plural, means "to bowl". However, the singular form used in Italy, is bocce.
2. The most intricate arena for bocce in the US is the Palazzo di Bocce, in the town of Orion Hills. Which state is this located in?

Answer: Michigan

Located in Orion Hills, it has hosted the 2005 World Bocce Championships.
3. The small white or yellow ball, which is thrown first to start the game is called what?

Answer: pallino

The pallino is very small, and also know as a boccino or jack.
4. The small white or yellow ball is also named the same as a man's name. What is this?

Answer: Jack

After throwing the jack, the game proceeds with the first team throwing the bocce close to the jack.
5. When throwing to start the game, the white ball should cross what part of the court?

Answer: the middle

If it does not cross the middle, then it is either thrown again, or given to the other team to throw.
6. A game is typically played to 12 points in the US.

Answer: True

This is the typical point limit played to in the US. Although, games have been known to go to 15 or 21.
7. A bocce is considered dead when it hits what?

Answer: Back wall

It is called "morte" in Italian. The bocce is then removed from play, and is not allowed to be re-thrown.
8. What is a raffa shot in international bocce?

Answer: a ground throw at another bocce to move that bocce out of the way

Most games in the US do not require the player to announce the shot, as in international play. Volo is the aerial shot, and punto is the shot intended to get close to the pallino.
9. An acceptable way to decide points is to use a ruler or other measuring device.

Answer: True

The most common method is an extendable pointer that can be placed between the bocce to measure the distance from the pallino or jack.
10. How do you score points in bocce?

Answer: To get the bocce closer to the pallino than opponents

For example, if I get 2 bocce closer to to the pallino than you, then I score 2 points.
