1. Frank Chance, Charlie Grimm, Joe McCarthy, Leo Durocher, and Dusty Baker, all managed what team?

Answer: Chicago Cubs

Chance, McCarthy, and Grimm, all won National League pennants with the Cubs. Baker managed the club in 2003.
2. Where were the Senators from?

Answer: Washington

The Washington Senators existed with 2 different clubs. After being the Senators from 1901 to 1960, they became the Minnesota Twins. After leaving for Minnesota, the new Washington Senators, in Washington, existed from 1961 to 1971. They then became the Texas Rangers. The only World Series victory for either club, came in 1924.
3. What player was the first Yankee to be inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame?

Answer: Babe Ruth

All these Yankee greats are in the hall, but Ruth made it some 20 years earlier. The Babe was one of the 5 initial inductees in 1936. Ruth joined Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Ty Cobb, and Honus Wagner. DiMaggio made it in 1955, Yogi made it in 1972, and Mantle became a member in 1974.
4. There were 2 inductees into the Hall of Fame in 2003. Which of those inductees, had the most career home runs?

Answer: Eddie Murray

Both Aaron and Robinson were inducted in 1982. Murray hit 504 home runs over 21 seasons, while Carter hit 324 in 19 seasons. Murray was inducted with 85% of the vote, while Carter made it in with 78%.
5. Ted Williams played his entire career in what uniform?

Answer: Boston Red Sox

From 1939 to 1960, Williams dazzled fans with his hard play. He won the Triple Crown in 1942 and 1947, and won 2 MVP Awards in 1946 and 1949. Ted missed 3 seasons from 1943-45 due to World War II. Williams held 16 Red Sox records in the 20th century. Williams also pitched in one game in his career, going 2 innings in 1940. He died in July, 2002.
6. What team dominated the 1990s, by appearing in 5 World Series?

Answer: Atlanta Braves

Of those others, only the Yankees saw WS action in the 1990s. The Braves lost to the Twins and Blue Jays in 1991 and 1992. In 1995, they defeated the Indians 4 games to 2, then lost the following season to the Yankees. 1999 was Atlanta's last World Series appearance of the decade, being skunked by the Yankees 4 games to 0.
7. St. Louis Browns' star Eddie Gaedel, hit how many career doubles?

Answer: 0

Gaedel was the 3'7" pinch hitter in 1951. He walked in his only at-bat in the Major Leagues, then had a pinch runner. This was the stunt of Brown's owner, Bill Veeck. Eddie died 10 days after his 36th birthday in 1961.
8. Chuck Connors, the TV star of the series, "The Rifleman", played Major League baseball for which team in 1951?

Answer: Chicago Cubs

The other teams did not exist in 1951. Chuck Connors, a.k.a, Lucas McCain, also played the for 1949 Brooklyn Dodgers also. He had only 1 at-bat, and grounded into a double play. After the season he called it quits, until the Cubs signed him 2 seasons later.

This Cub first baseman played in 66 games, batting .239 with 2 home runs. He went into television after the season, never to return to baseball. Connors' born name was Kevin Joseph Aloysius Connors. He died in 1992.
9. Who was the first member of the 600 home run club?

Answer: Babe Ruth

Ruth hit number 600 for the Yankees in 1931. He retired with 714 home runs. Mays hit number 600 in the tail end of the 1969 season. Aaron hit his 600th in 1971 in a Braves uniform, while Bonds got his in 2002.
10. Which of these franchises did not begin in 1969?

Answer: St. Louis Cardinals

The Padres also joined this group in 1969. The Cardinals organization began in 1882, under the name of the St.Louis Brown Stockings. From there it was the Browns, then the Perfectos in 1899, and finally the Cardinals in 1900.
