Edmund Irvine (known as Eddie Irvine) was born in Bangor, Northern Ireland. His father was a former amateur racer with the same name from Newtownards in Northern Ireland.

Answer: Japanese GP

Eddie's debut was in 1993, he came in sixth, scoring 1 championship point. This put him joint 20th in the championship that year. Eddie was the runner-up in F3000 in Japan that year and was therefore racing in Japan when the F1 road show rolled in. He replaced Emanuele Naspetti at Jordan for the last two races of the season.
