Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who is Sunderland AFCs mascot?

2. Arsenal have a very imposing mascot who entertains at their magnificent Emirates Stadium. What's his name?

3. Manchester United are a famous team worldwide, but do you know what their devilish mascot is named?

Answer: Fred the Red

Manchester United are nicknamed 'The Red Devils', so Fred is clad in bright red 'fur' and he has horns and a forked tail. He occasionally tries to chase Sir Alex Ferguson around the dugout.
4. Back to London now and the ground of Fulham FC who have a 'badger' mascot. What's his name?

Answer: Billy

Billy the Badger was named by Kyle Jackson who won an online design competition oranganised by the club. He wears the number 79 on his Fulham shirt as a reminder that the club was first formed in 1879. Billy has had his naughty moments, and during a home match against Aston Villa on 3rd of February 2008, he was sent off by the referee for break-dancing in a corner of the pitch after the match had started.

He did apologise to Chris Foy the referee, citing his badger sight and hearing for the incident.
5. Chelsea FC have a famous mascot. What's his name?

Answer: Stamford

Chelsea's home ground is Stamford Bridge, hence Stamford the Lion.
In his interview on Chelsea's official website, Stamford claims that he isn't loved by everyone, and that opposing fans sometimes chant 'Who are yer?' at him. He does have some perks as he claims that John Terry always pats him on his head as he enters the field of play.
6. One of Chelsea's local rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, have a very smart mascot. His name is what?

Answer: Chirpy the Cockerel

Tottenham are colloquially known as 'Spurs', cockerels have 'spurs' on their heels, hence, Chirpy the Cockerel. Chirpy sometimes teases the crowd by trying to persuade men to get up and dance with him, and going through ladies handbags and ruffling their hair.
7. West Ham United's main mascot is known as who?

Answer: Herbie the Hammer

West Ham's nickname is 'The Hammers'. The 'Bubbles' misleading option was in reference to their club song, "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles". Herbie is often joined by his friend Bubbles the Bear.
8. Can you name this Stoke City FC mascot who has a girlfriend?

Answer: Pottermus

Pottermus has a lady friend named Pottermiss, and he's a bit of a character. He sometimes rides a motorcycle around the pitch, clad in a leather jacket, and he's won the Mascot's Grand National twice. He has also been known to wrestle visiting mascots.
9. On the 'other' Manchester side, Manchester City has a mascot named what?

Answer: Moonchester

Moonchester also had a lady friend, Moonbeam, and his name is a play on the club's song "Blue Moon". Moonchester once had a snowball fight with Coventry's mascot, Sky Blue Sam, which the stewards had to break up.
10. What is the mascot's name for Birmingham City FC?

Answer: Beau Brummie

Birmingham fans are sometimes known as bluenoses, which stems from a football fans survey census which observed that they are often left out in the cold when it comes to success. This observation led to the mascot between 1994 and 1997 being a large Blue Nose.

The new mascot is a dog named Beau Brummie, an excellent play on words which combines Beau Brummel with Brummie, a nickname for people from Birmingham.
