1. Which country won the Euro 2012 tournament?

Answer: Spain

Spain beat Italy 4-0, setting a new record for the highest score in a Euro final (the previous record score was 3-0 in 1972 West Germany v USSR). Spain created history by winning three major international tournaments in a row, being Euro 2008, World Cup 2010, and then Euro 2012. This had never been done before (they also became the first country to retain their Euro title).
2. Who won the Golden Boot for the tournament?

Answer: Fernando Torres

Fernando Torres won the Golden boot, despite only starting two games for Spain. In the tournament, Torres scored 3 goals and assisted once; five players scored three goals but Torres was the Golden Boot as he spent less time on the field. Torres also became the first player to score in two Euro finals (he scored the winner when Spain beat Germany 1-0 at Euro 2008).
