Answer: The Production Line

The Production line was formed by legendary coach Jack Adams in 1947; they went on to set scoring records and helped the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup in 1950 and 1952. Sid Abel was traded to Chicago in 1953 and replaced on the line by Alex Delvecchio.

Answer: Kraut Line

All three members are in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
3. In the 1970s, the Bruins had another high scoring line that was never given a nickname. Two members on this line were Phil Esposito and Ken Hodge. Who was the 3rd member?

Answer: Wayne Cashman

This line excelled on the small ice surface at the old Boston Garden as they used their size and muscle to create scoring opportunities. The team as a whole was nicknamed the, "Big Bad Bruins".
4. The Buffalo Sabres of the 1970s featured the famous "French Connection Line". The members were Gil Perreault, Rick Martin, and who?

Answer: Rene Robert

They were of French Canadian descent, and took their name from the famous Academy Award winning movie. They reached their peak when they got to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1975, only to lose to the Flyers in 6 games.
5. The Los Angeles Kings' famous "Triple Crown Line" consisted of Hall of Famers Marcel Dionne and Dave Taylor. Who was the third member of that line?

Answer: Clark Gillies

Trottier was the playmaking center, Bossy was the "sniper" and Gillies did the "dirty work" in the corners and in front of the net. It was Nystrom however, who scored the Stanley Cup winning goal in overtime of game 6 vs. the Flyers in 1980.
7. The New York Rangers of the early 1970s had a high scoring line of Jean Ratelle, Rod Gilbert, and Vic Hadfield. They were nicknamed, "The Gag Line". Why?

Answer: Steve Shutt

Shutt retired as the highest scoring left wing in NHL history (a record since broken by Luc Robitaille). The Canadiens as a whole were nicknamed "The Flying Frenchmen." They had some epic battles with the "Big Bad Bruins" of Boston; these clashes featured a great contrast in style with the Canadiens' speed vs. the Bruins' power.
