Answer: Soon after the start (4-8mins)

Arsenal was almost twice as likely to score during the 4-8 min period than at any other point. Manchester United, on the other hand, are more likely to score in the final 4 minutes than in any other period.

It is surprising, maybe revealing, but Kanu has one of the better on-the-paper records. Kanu, despite only 9 starts and 7 substitute appearances, scored most with 5, as compared to Bergkamps's 4 from 23 starts and 6 substitute appearances. Jeffers only scored 2 from 2 starts and 14 substitute appearances. Pennant scored an encouraging 3 (hat-trick) from only 1 start and 4 substitute appearances.

Robert Pires also had a high proportion of substitutions at 15 of 21 starts, and surprisingly Freddie Ljungberg was only substituted 7 times in 19 starts.
10. Which of these was the last time, in the 1990s, that Arsenal neither finished as Premiership champions nor runners-up?

Answer: 1996-1997

In 1996-1997 Arsenal finished third. Although they drew on points with Newcastle who finished runners up, Newcastle had a superior goal difference.
