1. What form of racing had to be switched from bamboo gates to break-away gates because of a revolutionary way of taking the shortest route?

Answer: Slalom

Because of the technicality of Slalom, seconds can be shaved off by allowing only your skis to go around the gate and your body to block the gate. Thus, the bamboo gates needed to be replaced because they would snap when blocked by the racer.

Answer: Rossignol

3. Who was the Italian superstar in Slalom and Giant Slalom in the 90's?

Answer: Alberto Tomba

Alberto Tomba dominated the World Cup scene in the 90's with his agressive skiing style.

Answer: Spyder

5. How did Tommy Moe finish in the '94 Lillehammer Olympics?

Answer: Gold medal in downhill, silver medal in Super G

Finishing first in the downhill by just .o4 of a second, Tommy Moe took the Gold. He also made a good run at the gold in the Super G, finishing a close second.
6. What state was Picabo Street originally from?

Answer: Idaho

Picabo grew up not far from Sun Valley, Idaho. Here she could ski as often as possible, and had a racing program close by as well.
