The first ever Grand Prix was held on a very long track at Le Mans (let's just say twice to three times as long as the 24hour track now).

Answer: Ferenc Szisz

Szisz, in a 90hp Renault, won the race over 2 days for a patriotic win for the French concern. He was a riding mechanic before stepping behind the wheel.

Answer: FIAT

Felice Nazzaro won the 1907 French GP at Dieppe over 10 laps (consider though these were laps of perhaps 50 km each)

Brooklands was the first purpose built circuit ever in the world, although it would never be visited by mainstream Grand Prix events. Indianapolis was not built until 1909.
