1600 meters is in fact 0.9941939 of a mile. Almost a mile but not quite.

Jim broke the barrier on June 5, 1964, anr ran a time of 3:55.03.

Answer: The 3,200 meter run

The 1,600 meter run is the second longest. The two mile doesn't exist (remember the mile conversion). The 100-meter dash is the shortest race.
4. What is another name for the triple jump?

Answer: The hop, the skip, and the jump

The triple jump is also called the hop,the skip, and the jump because jumpers first take a hop off of one foot, skip off of it again, and then jump off of both feet into the sand.
5. Girls can do the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles. What can boys do?

Answer: The 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles

The boys hurdles are higher than the girls, but are also more spaced out.

The medley relay is two 100s one 200 and one 400, it is also called the 800 meter medly relay.

None of these other "offences" even exsist in track and field. Seeing as the shoes worn in races are called spikes, it makes since that if you're kicked by one you're "spiked".

Unless you are using an ally start( a start in which several runners start in front of everyone else) you are allowed to cut in as soon as you have room.
10. What do sprinters start out of?

Answer: blocks

Sprinters push against the blocks for extra speed and jump at the begining of the race.
