Answer: Gordie Howe

Howe played for the Detroit Red Wings from 1946-1971. In 1973, Gordie came out of retirement to play for the Houston Aeros in the upstart WHA and with his sons, Mark and Marty, and became the first father/son combo to play professional hockey. 1977-78 and 1978-79 season he played for the WHA's Hartford Whalers, and in 1979-80 he again played in the NHL when the Whalers joined that league.

In 1997 when he was 69 years old, he played one shift for the Detroit Vipers of the IHL to become the only player to play in six different decades.
2. One of these players was not nicknamed "Moose"?

Answer: Al Iafrate

Mark "Moose" Messier played for the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and Vancouver Canucks from 1979-2004. Elmer "Moose" Vasko played 10 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks followed by two seasons with the Minnesota North Stars. Andre "Moose" Dupont played a few games for the New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues, but is best know for his years (1972-80) with the Broad Street Bullies (Philadelphia Flyers).

He finished his career playing with the Quebec Nordiques until 1983. Al Iafrate played for Toronto, Washington, Boston, and San Jose.

His nickname was "Wild Thing".
3. This former Red Wing and Hall of Fame member had the nickname "Fats". Who was he?

Answer: Alex Delvecchio

Delvecchio got this nick because of his chubby cheeks. "Fats" played his entire career (1951-1973) with the Detroit Red Wings and was their captain for 12 seasons. He won three Stanley Cups and three Lady Byng trophies, and was a member of the famed "Production Line" with Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay. Bill Gadsby was solid defenseman for the Wings from 1961-1966 after stints with Chicago and New York, and was a seven-time all-star.
4. What Hall of Fame goalie was nicknamed "Mr. Zero"?

Answer: Frank Brimsek

Frank Brimsek played for the Boston Bruins from 1938-1949. He retired after one season with Chicago in 1950. Brimsek retired with 40 shutouts, unheard of at that time. He is also the first U.S. born player to enter the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966.
5. What NHL great had the nickname "Elbows"?

Answer: Eric Nesterenko

Nesterenko was a versatile forward who played for Toronto and Chicago from 1951-1972. The nickname comes from the fact that if you went into the corner with him, you would pay a price. He also played Rob Lowe's father in the 1986 hockey movie "Youngblood".

Answer: Larry Robinson

Larry had his name on the Stanley Cup nine times as a player, assistant coach, and head coach.
7. Who was known as "The Rat"?

Answer: Ken Linesman

The story goes that Bobby Clarke gave Ken Linesman the nickname "The Rat" because of his features and on-ice behavior. The same nick would have fit Clarke like a glove.
8. Lorne "Gump" Worsley got his nickname because his friends thought he looked like who?

Answer: Andy Gump

The Gumps was a popular comic strip running in newspapers from 1917-1959. Lorne's buddies decided he looked like the chinless, blowhard Andy Gump. Lorne Worsley made up for his less than flattering nick by winning four Stanley Cups and a Vezina Trophy.
9. This player was known as "The Eel" because of his slick moves and evasive style. Who was he?

Answer: Camille Henry

Camille "The Eel" Henry played for the Rangers, Black Hawks, and Blues from 1953-1970. He won the Calder Trophy in 1954 and the Lady Byng Trophy in 1958.
10. What fan favorite was known as "The Entertainer"?

Answer: Eddie Shack

Eddie "The Entertainer" Shack played for New York, Toronto, Boston, Pittsburgh, and Los Angeles from 1958-1975. When he hit the ice you knew he would score a goal, allow a goal to be scored against his team, or get in a fight. In 1966, "Clear the Track, Here Comes Shack" was a hit single in Canada.
