1. Who was the first kicker in history to successfully make 500 field goals?

Answer: Gary Anderson

The others never kicked 300 field goals in their careers. From 1982-2004, Gary played for five teams while kicking a career 538 field goals. Morten Andersen broke Gary's record by kicking 565, retiring in 2007. Morten also played with five teams.
2. In 1965, this Green Bay Packer became the first punter to kick a 90-yard punt. Who was this with the big foot?

Answer: Don Chandler

Chandler kicked this 90-yard punt in October 1965, breaking the 88-yard record of Bob Waterfield set in 1948. Don kicked a 74-yard punt the season prior with the New York Giants also.
3. This kicker was the first in history to kick 70 extra points in one season. One might figure that it was for a big gun team. Who was this kicker in 2007?

Answer: Stephen Gostkowski

The 2007 Patriots went 16-0 in the regular season, then lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl. Gostkowski was only in his second season in the NFL when he kicked 74-74 extra points. He was also 21 for 24 in field goals, but with nothing over 50 yards.
4. Who kicked the game-winning field goal in Super Bowl V for the Baltimore Colts?

Answer: Jim O'Brien

With five seconds left in the game, O'Brien kicked the 32-yard winning field goal to secure a 16-13 win over the Cowboys. The Colts were down 13-6 entering the fourth quarter. Even with the Colts' win, Cowboy linebacker Chuck Howley was the Super Bowl V MVP Award recipient.
5. Which of these NFL kickers led the league the most times in field goals made in a season?

Answer: Lou Groza

Groza played his entire 22-season career with the Cleveland Browns from 1946-1967. He led the league six times in making field goals, with a career high in 1952 by kicking 33. Lou was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1974.
6. This kicker retired with the sorest leg in football, being the first-ever to attempt 500 field goals. Who was this Hall of Fame player?

Answer: George Blanda

From 1949-1975, Blanda played for the Bears, Oilers, Raiders, and just one game with the Colts in 1950. George was a quarterback and kicker during his career. He retired with 639 attempts while making 335. Blanda also threw 236 touchdowns from the air, while allowing 277 interceptions. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1981.
7. In the 2007 NFC Championship game, who kicked the 47-yard game-winning field goal to put the New York Giants into Super Bowl XLII?

Answer: Lawrence Tynes

The kick gave the Giants a 23-20 win over the Packers in overtime. The Giants would go on to defeat the Patriots 17-14 in Super Bowl XLII.

Answer: Neil Rackers

Rackers was in his sixth season in the NFL, and third with the Arizona Cardinals in 2005. He made 40 of his 42 field goals kicked in the season. The Cardinals would still go only 5-11 under Dennis Green in the season. Bakken kicked in 17 seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals, but never kicked 30 in a season.
9. Who was the first kicker to punt 1000 times in a career?

Answer: Jerrel Wilson

The others never reached the 800-milestone in punts. Wilson played 15 seasons with the Chiefs, then his final with the Patroits in 1978. He punted 1072 times in his career.
10. Which New England kicker booted a Super Bowl game-winning kick against the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI?

Answer: Adam Vinatieri

After the Rams leading 17-3 in the game, the Patriots took over, and finished the game as time expired with Adam Vinatieri's 48-yard field goal. The Patriots put the Rams down 20-17 at the Louisiana Superdome.
