1. In the match between Croatia and Cameroon, which player scored with a header?

Answer: Mario Mandzukiæ

Mario scored from Danijel Pranjiæ's corner. Croatia won 4-0. Alex Song of Cameroon was sent off during the game. Other goals were by Ivan Perisiæ, Ivica Oliæ and another one by Mario Mandzukiæ. Both countries went out of the tournament after the group stages.
Mandzukic moved from Bayern Munich to Atletico Madrid in 2014.
2. In Colombia's game against Ivory Coast, James Rodriguez scored from whose corner?

Answer: Juan Cuadrado

Colombia won the game 2-1. Juan Quintero scored the second goal for Colombia. He was brought on as a substitute in the game (Gervinho scored for Ivory Coast). Cuadrado was playing for the Italian club Fiorentina at the time.

Ivory Coast went out in the group stage while Colombia were sadly eliminated by Brazil in the knockout stages of the tournament.
3. Which 'toothy' player scored the first goal for Uruguay in their match against England?

Answer: Luis Suárez

Luis also scored their second goal in a game that they won 2-1. England's only goal was from Wayne Rooney. Uruguay qualified for the knockout stages but were later eliminated. England didn't make it past the group stages.
Luis Suarez moved from Liverpool to Barcelona after the World Cup.
4. The captain of the Costa Rican team scored with a header in their match against Italy. Who was this player?

Answer: Bryan Ruiz

Júnior Díaz's cross was headed by Ruiz. Italy lost the game 1-0. Costa Rica's fairy tale World Cup continued as they topped the group of death which included England, Italy and Uruguay. Italy were eliminated in the group stages and Costa Rica were ousted by Netherlands in the knockout stages.

Olivier Giroud scored from Mathieu Valbuena's corner. France won this thrilling game 5-2. Other French goal scorer's were Karim Benzema with two, Blaise Matuidi and Moussa Sissoko. The Swiss managed to pocket two goals with Granit Xhaka and Blerim Dzemaili scoring with wonderful accuracy.

France and Switzerland progressed from the group stages but were later knocked out by Germany and Argentina respectively.

Answer: Honduras

Enner Valencia scored two goals in this game. The second goal was a header from Walter Ayoví's free kick. Ecuador won the game 2-1. Honduras' goal came from Carlo Costly. Both teams did not progress past the group stage.

The game finished 2-2. The other goal for Ghana was scored by Asamoah Gyan. That goal was assisted by Sulley Muntari. This match was interesting because brothers, Jérôme Boateng from Germany and Kevin-Prince Boateng from Ghana faced each other in a World Cup match.

Portugal didn't make it past the group stages marking a disappointing World Cup for maestro Cristiano Ronaldo but USA had the resiliency to make it to the knockout stages from a tough group that included Ghana and Germany.
9. Abdelmoumene Djabou's corner was headed in by which Algerian player in their match against South Korea?

Answer: Rafik Halliche

The game ended 4-2. Algerian goal scorers were Islam Slimani, Abdelmoumene Djabou and Yacine Brahimi. South Korean goal scorers were Son Heung-min and Koo Ja-cheol.

This was Algeria's first victory in a World Cup since the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain. Algeria made it to the knockout rounds but South Korea had to fly home after the group stage.
10. Which German player scored when his header found the back of the net even after the ball hit his knee?

Answer: Mario Götze

Mario, nicknamed as 'SuperMario', tapped in a ball from Thomas Muller to score Germany's first goal of the match. The ball hit his head and then hit his knee and went in. As the replay's showed, it was meant to be a header but the player got the angles wrong and it went down towards his knee instead but he still managed to find the back of the net.

Germany scored two goals in this game. The second goal came from Miroslav Klose. This goal was especially important as he surpassed Brazilian, Ronaldo's tally of 15 goals scored in World Cup matches.
