The 1993 UCI Road World Championships were held in Oslo, Norway. By winning the road race Lance would get to wear the Rainbow Jersey for a whole year, when cycling. In 1993, Lance beat out Olaf Ludwig and Miguel Indurain for the victory.

Lance first competed in the 1993 Tour de France. He didn't win his first Tour de France until 1999. Lance would go on to win seven straight Tour de France titles. Lance was his seventh straight Tour de France in 2005.
