1. Which Hall of Famer played with the great Ernie Banks and slugger Roger Maris on different teams?

Answer: Lou Brock

Before becoming a household base stealing name with the Cardinals, Brock was a rookie with the Chicago Cubs in 1961 where he met Mr. Cub. In 1961, Maris was busy breaking Babe Ruth's season home run record with the Yankees. Lou found Roger Maris on the Cardinals' 1968 roster. Brock broke Maury Will's season stolen base record when he stole 118 in 1974. Rickey Henderson later broke Brock's record.

The others were all retired before Maris was a rookie in 1957.
2. Which of these Hall of Fame pitchers was on the same roster as Hall of Famer Bob Feller in the 1940s, and a different roster with Hall of Fame pitcher Jim "Catfish" Hunter in the 1960s?

Answer: Satchel Paige

Paige came from the Negro Leagues in baseball to pitch with Feller on the 1948 Indians. He went 6-1 in his first Major League season. He hooked up with Hunter on the 1965 Kansas City Athletics, when Paige retired. After winning an undocumented 2000 games in the Negro Leagues, Satchel went 28-31 in the Major Leagues.
3. Only one pitcher, and a Hall of Fame pitcher at that, pitched with both Sandy Koufax and Fernando Valenzuela in his career. Who was this 300-game winner?

Answer: Don Sutton

Koufax retired as a Dodger in 1966. Valenzuela was a rookie with the Dodgers in 1980. Sutton was a Dodger from 1966-1980 before being traded to Houston in 1981. Don retired as a Dodger in 1988, back again with Fernando, with a 324-256 record. Cooperstown inducted Sutton in 1998.
4. Which Hall of Famer played with pitchers Dizzy Dean and Warren Spahn?

Answer: Billy Herman

The others were all one-team players. Herman was a second baseman who played with Dizzy in 1939 when Dean was a Cub, then hooked up with Spahn of the Braves in 1946. Billy was inducted into the hall in 1975.
5. Pitcher Ned Garver was a rookie in 1948 with the St. Louis Browns. Rich Gossage retired as a Mariner in 1994. Who was the only player to play with both pitchers?

Answer: Jim Fregosi

Garver and Fregosi met with the 1961 Angels in team's inaugural season. Jim later found Gossage on the 1977 Pittsburgh Pirates, before Goose became a household name with the Yankees and Padres.

Billy hooked up with DiMaggio on the 1950 Yankees in Martin's rookie season. He later found himself with Kaat on the 1961 Minnesota Twins. Martin retired and later managed the Twins.
7. Only one player in history had the honor of playing with both Lou Gehrig and Mickey Mantle. Who is this Hall of Fame great?

Answer: Joe DiMaggio

Both Lyons and Dickey retired in 1946, while Yogi was a rookie in 1946. DiMaggio was a Yankee from 1936-1951. He played with Gehrig for three seasons, then in his final season in the pinstripes, he met Mickey Mantle as a rookie.
8. Which Hall of Fame great played with two other Hall of Fame greats, pitchers Cy Young and Walter Johnson?

Answer: Tris Speaker

Speaker was known for his career doubles record of 792. He found Cy Young on the 1907 Boston Americans. He later linked up with Walter Johnson in 1927 with the Washington Senators, where Johnson threw his 110th career shutout. Tris played from 1907-1928, led the league eight times in doubles, won a home run title in 1912, and even won a batting title in 1916.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1937 during the second round of inductions.
9. Only one player had the honor of playing with two big guns in the names of Hank Aaron and Mark McGwire. Who was this player who later became a manager?

Answer: Dusty Baker

While Aaron played with the Braves from 1954-1974, Baker was on the Braves' roster from 1968-1975 before Dusty became a Los Angeles Dodger. Dusty found Mark McGwire in his final season in 1986 with the Athletics. McGwire was a rookie and set a rookie record for hitting 49 home runs in the season. Baker later managed the Giants for 10 seasons before moving to Cubs and Reds.
