The Duke Blue Devils recent National Championship wins were in 2010 over Butler and in 2015 defeating Wisconsin. Their basketball program has been in existence since the 1905-06 season and are considered among the elite college teams. Duke's success can be in part attributed to the great coaching of Mike Krzyzewski, who first joined the team in 1980.

The Villanova Wildcats won the National Championship in 2016 defeating Michigan and in 2018 prevailing against North Carolina. They compete in the Big East Conference and the university is located near Philadelphia. Their two recent NCAA Tournament titles came after their inaugural victory in 1985.

The Louisville Cardinals were victorious in the 2013 National Championship while defeating the Michigan Wolverines. In 2018, however, it was announced by the NCAA that Louisville has been stripped of their title as a result of a sex scandal investigation involving players and coaches from 2011-2015.

Answer: North Carolina

North Carolina won recent National Championships in 2005 over Illinois, in 2009 against Michigan State, and in 2017 prevailing over Gonzaga. During those victories the Tar Heels were coached by Roy Williams who has been in the head coaching position at North Carolina since 2003. Notable players who went on to star in the NBA included Michael Jordan, James Worthy and Vince Carter.

The Kentucky Wildcats were winners in the 2012 National Championship with a victory over the Kansas Jayhawks. They entered the NCAA Tournament as the number one seed after compiling a 32-2 record during the regular season. The win represented their eighth title in their storied success in college basketball.

Answer: Florida

Florida defeated UCLA to capture their first National Championship in 2006. They followed that up the next year by defeating Ohio State to win their second consecutive title. The Gators basketball program began in 1915 but they did not qualify for the NCAA Tournament until 1987. It wasn't until the mid 1990s that they found consistent success under head coach Billy Donovan.

Answer: Connecticut

The Connecticut Huskies won the National Championship in 2004, 2011 and 2014 besting Georgia Tech, Butler and Kentucky, respectively. UConn established their basketball program in 1901 and won their first NCAA title in 1999 under head coach John Calhoun, considered to be one of the all-time greats. Notable players to go on and play in the NBA include Ray Allen and Richard Hamilton.

Answer: Kansas

The Kansas Jayhawks won the 2008 National Championship over the Memphis Tigers in a game that was decided in overtime. The victory was the third NCAA Tournament title for the Jayhawks and the first while under the leadership of head coach Bill Self. Some of the alumni that went on to play in the NBA include Wilt Chamberlain and Paul Pierce.

Answer: Maryland

The Maryland Terrapins triumphed in the 2002 National Championship by defeating the Indiana Hoosiers. That win was the initial title in the first eighteen appearances at the NCAA Tournament. The Terrapins have been competing on the college basketball circuit since 1904.

Answer: Syracuse

The Syracuse Orangeman won the 2003 National Championship over the Kansas Jayhawks. The victory marked the first time that the Orangeman won the NCAA Tournament title and did so under the tutelage of long tenured head coach Jim Boeheim. Syracuse changed their nickname after the 2005 season to "Orange".
