1. Which of the following ACC schools had a nickname that did not end with an "s"?

Answer: N.C. State

The N.C. State Wolfpack. Nevada uses this name as well, although as two words, i.e., Wolf Pack. Georgia Tech could technically be correct for this question as well, as Ramblin' Wreck is one of their official nicknames, along with Yellow Jackets.
2. What perennial "s"-less football powerhouse had fans who waved toilet paper and laundry detergent at their home games?

Answer: Alabama

The Alabama Crimson Tide. A roll of toilet paper and a box of TIDE, "ROLL TIDE".
3. What did the "S"-less nicknames of Dartmouth, North Texas, and Tulane, all have in common?

Answer: They all contained the color green

The Dartmouth Big Green, the North Texas Mean Green, and the Tulane Green Wave. North Texas also claimed the Eagles as an official mascot, but are more commonly referred to as the Mean Green.
4. Which "Golden" natural phenomenon did the University of Tulsa use without an "s" as its mascot?

Answer: Golden Hurricane

You'd think the Golden Tornado would be appropriate considering Tulsa's location in Tornado Alley, but it's the Golden Hurricane nonetheless.
5. St. John's University in New York City was known for years as the Redmen, but was forced to change their nickname because it was racially insensitive. Did they continue their "s"-less tradition with their new name?

Answer: Yes

They became the St. John's Red Storm.
6. Another Big East school changed their "s"-less nickname in 2004, but for different reasons. Which school was it?

Answer: Syracuse

Answer: All listed

The Notre Dame Fightin Irish and the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Navy Midshipmen. The others were the Army Black Knights, Air Force Falcons, and the Citadel Bulldogs.
9. What prestigious school took the "s" off of a popular bird/tree nickname, to make it into one that represents a color?

The Stanford Cardinal. It sounds like a bird, is actually a color, and is represented by a tree mascot. Got it? Harvard also uses an "s"-less color nickname, the Crimson.
10. Howard University and Bucknell University both used which animal, whose plural does not involve an "s" at the end, as their mascot in 2005.

Answer: Bison

The Massachusetts Minutemen, Hofstra Flying Dutchmen, Florida Atlantic Blue Wave, and Cornell Big Red round out the Divison I schools who use a singular-sounding nickname.
