Answer: Ollie Brown

After being awarded a baseball frachise during an owners meeting in Chicago, Ollie Brown was the first of thirty players that San Diego took in the 1969 expansion draft. Nicknamed "Downtown" Brown for his long home runs as a minor leaguer, Ollie hit 20 homers with a .264 batting average in his first season as a Padre.

Answer: Dock Ellis throws a no-hitter against the Padres at San Diego Stadium

Dock Ellis' no-hitter acually came two years earlier in 1970. It was the only no-hitter thrown at San Diego Stadium.

Answer: Randy Jones

Randy Jones won the Cy Young Award after an inspiring 22-14 record. Also that year, he lead the Padres in wins (22), innings pitched (315 1/3), and complete games (25).

Answer: Steve Garvey

The Pads made history in 1980, becoming the first N.L. team to have three 50 stolen-base men. Gene Richards stole 61, Ozzie Smith stole 57, and Jerry Mumphrey stole 52. Steve Garvey only dtolr six bags that year.

Petco Park was built downtown was breath-taking views of the Bay, the downtown skyline, and the Coronado Bridge all within viewing distance. The most notable feature of Petco Park is the historic Western Metal Supply Co. building which was incorperated into the ballpark by the left field foul pole. Petco Park can hold approximately 42,500 fans.

Not only is it smaller and less crowded than Qualcomm Stadium, it is also built much closer to the field so fans can get an in-depth and unique view of all the action the game offers. Petco Park will be an attractive, comfortable, and efficient park for everyone to experience.
