The MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) has grown from humble beginnings since the 1850s and has been transformed into a 100,000 seater coliseum. The Olympic Games of 1956 were held there and each year the Boxing Day test cricket match attracts crowds in excess of 80,000.

The AFL Grand Final is played there each Sept/Oct and has crowds of over 90,000. The GABBA is the major sporting arena in Brisbane, Queensland that attracts test cricket, AFL football and rugby. The name GABBA is derived from a suburb of Brisbane (Woolloongabba) in which it is situated. Stadium Australia also known as Homebush Stadium was built specifically for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

It also features rugby, soccer and Aussie Rules football games. The WACA (Western Australia Cricket Ground) in Perth, is predominately a ground for cricket.

It opened in 1912 and since then has been the home of the MLB team the Boston Red Sox. Wrigley Field (Chicago) was opened in 1914 and since 1916 has been the home of the MLB team the Chicago Cubs.
