1. What year did the St George Dragons first play?

Answer: 1921

They joined the NSWRL to make it a 9 nine team competition, necessitating a bye every round.

2. What was the first team St George ever beat?

Answer: Newtown

Round 5, 1921 at the Sydney Sports Ground: Newtown v St George 9-11. They were actually very unlucky to lose their first ever match in round 1, Glebe v St George 4-3, also at the Sydney Sports Ground.

3. In 1928, St George only lost 2 matches, one in round 2 and the other was when?

Answer: Major semi final

Despite being minor premiers with an impressive 12-1 record, the Saints lost to Souths in the major semi-final 13-5 and missed out on their chance at the premiership. Souths went on to beat Easts in the Final.

They scraped into the finals that year in fourth spot, with 8 wins and a draw from their 14 games. They smashed Balmain by 32-8 in the minor semi-final, before going on to beat Easts in the final 31-14.
