Deer set this unfortunate record with the Brewers.
2. As of January 2001, what player held the American League season strikeout record as a rookie batter?

Answer: Pete Incaviglia

Incaviglia struck out 185 times in 1986 with the Rangers to set the rookie record.

Answer: Lou Brock

Brock of the Cardinals holds many records in baseball for stealing, but was not noted for his power. He is in the record books for that ratio.

While playing with the Angels at the time Jackson struck for the 2000th time in 1983. He had many many more strike outs ahead of him.

Bateman with the old Colt 45's did this in 1963.

Answer: Willie Stargell

Stargell is second to Jackson with 1936 strikeouts from 1961 to 1982.
