The Oilers, led by quarterback George Blanda, defeated the LA Chargers 24-16.

Answer: Dallas Texans

The Texans (they became the Kansas City Chiefs in 1963) ended Houston's two year reign by beating the Oilers 20-17 for the 1962 championship.

Alworth was a star receiver for the Chargers from 1962 to 1970.
