The Bats entered the SFA Division 2 competition in 2000 and were premiers in their first year.

The Bats had a fabulous start to their existence with 2 premierships in their first 3 years. The second was particularly notable as the Bats surged from 4th spot at the end of the home and away season to take the title.

Minervini received a weeks suspension for calling an umpire a cheat in 2000. Wilson received a suspended sentence for striking in 2001. Tassone received 4 weeks for tripping a player whilst boundary umpiring in 2001 and Paltridge received 2 weeks for striking in 2002.
