Answer: Chennai (Madras), India

Nasser Hussain was born on 28th March 1968. He played for Essex and England, rising to the position of England captain in 1999. He gave up the one day international captaincy after this World Cup, as England performed so poorly.
2. Which player had his birthday on Christmas Day (25th December)?

Answer: Marcus Trescothick

Trescothick was born in Somerset on Christmas Day 1975. He played for Somerset and England. He is an opening batsman who displays a lot of talent and has the potential to be one of the great test players.
3. Alec Stewart's father was himself an England player. What was his name?

Answer: Michael

Alec Stewart was selected for England on account of his batting ability and wicket keeping skills. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1993; he received the MBE in June 1998 and the OBE in June 2003.

Ronnie Irani bowled the 45th over of the Namibian innings, which was his sixth over, and it only contained five deliveries. It was an over full of action - the first ball yielded one run, the second none, the third saw Burger dismissed, caught by Collingwood.

The fourth ball saw Kotze out lbw; the next delivery was the hat trick attempt, but van Vuuren thwarted that. The umpire then called over.

Giles had had tonsilitis and fortunately recovered in time to play. there had also been doubt about Nasser Hussain with a sore neck, which had kept him out of the game against Namibia, and Ian Blackwell, a back problem. In the end, Hussain and Giles played in the match. Hussain scored 8 and Giles 17.

Answer: false

The official vice captain for the England squad was Marcus Trescothick, but Alec Stewart captained England when they played against Namibia. Nasser Hussain had a stiff neck and Stewart was asked to captain the side on account of his greater experience.
