Answer: Jarome Iginla

Roy and Giguere were goalies. Iginla of the Calgary Flames, scored on a power-play, shorthanded, even-strength, and empty-net, on February 23 against the Phoenix Coyotes. The Flames won 4-2.
2. Three of these Major League Baseball teams lasted only one season. The other lasted for over 20 years. Which team was it?

Answer: Boston Beaneaters

The Beaneaters, a former name of the 2004 Atlanta Braves franchise, were in existence from 1883-1906. This was the franchise's second name in history, the first being the Boston Red Caps. The Brooklyn Atlantics (2004 Dodgers) had their solo season in 1884.

The Seattle Pilots had their only year in 1969 before becoming the Milwaukee Brewers. The Perfectos of St. Louis existed in 1899, before becoming the St. Louis Cardinals in 1900.
3. In the 2002 New York City Marathon, which country finished first, second, and third, in the men's division?

Rodgers Rop won it in a time of 2:08:07. Christopher Cheboiboch finished second, only 10 seconds behind Rop, and fellow Kenyan runner Laban Kipkemboi finished third, only 32 seconds behind the unbroken tape.

With a 210 in the seventh frame, the first gutter in the 10th frame would give the bowler a 230 in the 8th frame. After another gutter on the second ball in the 10th, the ninth frame score would be 240. With no pins in the tenth, the score would remain 240.
5. The great Olympic swimmer Mark Spitz, won 11 medals in his two Olympics. How many medals were Gold?

Answer: 9

Mark competed in the 1968 and 1972 Olympics. His only non-gold were a silver and a bronze in 1968, along with his two Gold. He won an amazing seven Gold in 1972.

Answer: Arthur Ashe

Ashe, born in Richmond, Virginia in 1943, also won the Australian Open in 1970, and Wimbledon in 1975. His tainted transfusion was given in 1983 during heart surgery. He died in 1993.

Answer: Juli Inkster

Inkster of the U.S., fired a 66 in the final round of this July 2nd event. She was the second oldest woman ever to win the event at the time, at the age of 42.
8. Which team won the 2002 Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup?

Answer: Galaxy

The others listed did not make the playoffs. The Galaxy finished their regular season with a 16-9-3 record and 51 points. They defeated the Revolution in the final game that went into overtime, 1-0.
9. Which NFL quarterback set a single game rushing record for a quarterback in 2002?

Answer: Michael Vick

The others had long retired. Vick of the Atlanta Falcons, ran for 173 yards against the Minnesota Vikings on December 1, 2002. Vick helped lead the Falcons to their first playoff berth in three seasons. He was also named to the 2002 Pro Bowl roster.
10. Syracuse defeated which team to win the championship, in the 2003 NCAA Division I Men's basketball tournament?

Answer: Kansas

All teams listed made it to the Sweet 16. Syracuse defeated Kansas 81-78 in the final game, and Kansas earned the spot by beating Marquette 94-61.
