Answer: Clayton Lambert

Lambert represented the West Indies in five tests between 1991 and 1998. He scored 104 against England in March 1998.

Answer: Richard Staple

Staple, the captain of the USA, is a slow bowler from Jamaica. He took two wickets for 76, dismissing Styris and Cairns.
5. Which of the following New Zealanders batted for the shortest time?

Answer: Stephen Fleming

Fleming batted for 19 minutes. He was first out, for 15, when the score was on 25. Next out was Marshall, leaving New Zealand at 43-2. Astle and Styris then batted confidently to take the score on to 206-3. Styris batted for 90 minutes before being dismissed for 75. McMillan scored his 64 runs in only 30 minutes.
6. Jacob Oram dismissed Johnson, Romero and Massiah in the tenth over. Did he complete a hat trick?

Answer: No

Oram dismissed Johnson with the first delivery of the tenth over, Romero with the third and Massiah with the fifth. From 52-0 the USA had slumped to 52-3. Oram did have the distinction of being the only bowler in the match to bowl a five ball over, the fourth of the USA's innings.
7. Which of the New Zealand bowlers was the most economical?

Answer: Daniel Vettori

Daniel Vettori, the slow left arm bowler from Auckland, bowled his ten overs for just 14 runs. He took three wickets. Cairns was hit for 16 runs from five overs, Harris bowled his ten overs for 29 runs and Oram was hit for 36 runs.
8. Who top-scored in the American innings?

10. What was New Zealand's winning margin?

Answer: 210 runs

The USA needed 348 runs from their fifty overs. In the end they were all out for 137. Despite having beaten Zimbabwe in a warm up match, there never seemed to be much chance of them defeating New Zealand. Despite the huge winning margin of the New Zealanders, the USA played well.
