Elliott was the first player ever to come back from a liver transplant to play in the NBA. He made his dramatic return with the San Antonio Spurs, where he played most of his career (he had a brief stint with the Pistons).
2. Who was the highest draft pick ever from Arizona in the 20th century?

Answer: Mike Bibby

Bibby went number two in 1998 to the Grizzlies. Elliott went number three in 1989.
3. This starting backcourt led Arizona to the 1997 NCAA title.

Answer: Bibby and Simon

Mike Bibby went on to play together in the Grizzlies backcourt. Jason Terry would come in for the Cats to provide Lute with a strong three guard line-up back in 1997.
