Viking FK was founded 10 August, by "8 noble gentlemen" discussing their new sports team. The first decision made was the name: Aasland's suggestion "Viking".
2. What was the name of Viking's stadium in 1990?

Answer: Stavanger

They switched from Stavanger to Viking in 2004. The old stadium held 17,000, but the record was 18,892 when Viking played against Odd in 1969.

Viking has dark blue shirts, white shorts and dark blue socks. Their away colours are all white.

Tom Nordlie saved Viking in 2006 after Tom Prahl had led them to defeat after defeat, making them candidates for the Adecco-league. However, Nordlie went to another Tippeliga club after the season was over, and German Uwe Rosler took over the job. Drillo was never a Viking coach.
