Davenport had a great season and finished number 1. Mauresmo was number 2, Myskina number 3 and Sharapova number 4. Davenport did not win any Grandslams in 2004 though. She did win 7 WTA tour titles though.

Nicole Pratt won in Hyderabad, Iveta Benesova (Acapulco), Emilie Loit (Casablanca), Jelena Jankovic (Budapest), Claudine Schaul (Strasbourg), Flavia Pennetta (Sopot), Nicole Vaidisova (Vancouver) and Na Li (Guangzhou).

Answer: Maria Sharapova
