Collingwood hit 66 not out. Vaughan made 52, Flintoff 26 and Hussain just 8 in England's 8/246.

Akhtar hit three sixes and five fours, and scored 43 off just sixteen balls. This was the highest score by a No.11 in ODI's to this point in time. Pakistan were all out for 134 and lost by 112 runs. Jimmy Anderson, who took 4/29 for England, was named Man of the Match, but in some ways, Akhtar made a bigger impression.

Davison scored 111 off 76 balls, his century coming off just 67 balls. He hit six sixes and eight fours in his innings, and when he was dismissed with the score at 156 in the twelfth over, he had scored 71% of the runs scored until then. Canada were dismissed for 202 in the 43rd over.

The New Zealand batsmen certainly got stuck into the Bangladeshi bowling. Fours were struck by McMillan (9), Fleming (4), Cairns (3), and Styris and Adams (2 each). McMillan also hit two sixes, and each of the others hit one six. Only one Bangladesh batsman scored 0 (Habibul Bashar who was out first ball). New Zealand used seven bowlers. New Zealand scored 3/199 off 33.3 overs, to overhaul Bangladesh's 7/198 off 50 overs.

Shiv Chanderpaul top scored with 65. The loss meant the end of the Windies hopes of progressing to the semifinals of the World Cup.
